Each month, the Urbanist team highlights five of our favorite local finds.

1. Born & Raised
The $7 million steakhouse build by Consortium Holdings is officially Little Italy’s new hot ticket restaurant. Make a reservation, because the place does things like stack seared fois gras on top of steak, and looks like this.

2. Pizza Parlor
When in Little Italy, make pizza. The Herb & Wood team now fires pizza in its wood burning kitchen. You don’t need a reservation to get one though, it’s served at Herb’s casual next-door sister restaurant, Herb & Eatery.

3. Benny & Joon
The Old Globe’s latest hit play makes a musical out of a 90s rom-com. If 90s nostalgia is a thing now, does that make us nostalgic for a decade when nostalgia for other decades was at an all time high? #genxproblems

4. Spirits by the Bay
San Diego’s got a new kind of festival: one devoted to all locally produced craft spirits. Booze up with a view of the bay and downtown.

5. Maker Faire
You know it’s a happening event when it brings a robot to Balboa Park.
