Hamilton’s says it best: “Our 2nd Anniversary (2008) ale,
Green Flash Palate Wrecker, is all ‘growed’ up!” Tonight, the Green Flash Tasting Room in Mira Mesa is holding a pre-release party, from 3pm – 9pm officially now! Green Flash head brewer Chuck Silva created this aggressively hop forward beer at the request of Scot Blair for Hamilton’s 2nd anniversary. The 9.5% double IPA, with sparged hopped wort and 6 pounds of hops per barrel, won the British Beer Festival 2011 Michael Jackson American Cask Ale Award. It is now released to the world.
“Tomorrow, February 8th, we are releasing our Rich Man’s IIPA. It is an 8.7% hop love fest. Big, grassy and wonderfully bitter without going overboard! This really is a great beer and we didn’t make a ton of it so it won’t last forever. Of course, we’ll probably make more, but get THIS batch while you can. And I hope to see you trying it tomorrow. The beer will be on when we open so no sense in waiting.”
Hop lovers, the fun starts now! And we’ll keep you posted about other Pliny the Younger tappings when we hear of them.
