With its eclectic assortment of pubs and eateries, Normal Heights is anything but mundane, especially when the main drag is taken over by musicians and revelers during the annual Adams Avenue Roots Fest. Further down Adams, the historic town of Kensington flaunts some of the most fabulous Spanish Revival architecture in all of San Diego, plus a line of antique shops and a handful of cool culinary and cocktail hotspots. Even further east, City Heights has yet to shed its slightly ghetto sheen, but the lower rents has made the neighborhood an alluring spot for underground entrepreneurs.
